During this visit, the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for the Economy accompanied The Logistic Institute of Asia Pacific National University of Singapore (TLIAP – NUS) & the Institute of Transportation – Logistics of Trisakti University (ITL Trisakti) Jakarta to conduct a study on the supply chain of superior national products. The object of analysis for this study is the export commodity of cavendish bananas from the Sunpride brand, which is produced by PT GGP under the Great Giant Foods (GGF) Lampung business. Visiting guests were received by Packing House SubDiv Head Aris Wahyudi, Packing House Plant 1 Dep Head Edwin Bahari, and External Relations Sub Dep Head Gregorius Aris Tjahja Kristiawan Noegroho in the GGF Guest House Meeting Room.

Aris Wahyudi briefly explained the operations of GGF Lampung’s business activities, which involve business units such as PT GGP, PT Umas Jaya Agrotama (PT UJA), PT Great Giant Livestock (PT GGL), PT Inbio Tani Nusantara (PT ITN), and PT Bromelain Enzyme (PT BE). β€œAll of these business units are integrated with each other.

The existence of GGP requires GGL to handle pineapple peel waste, which is absorbed into cow feed. “Likewise, livestock waste will be managed by ITN into compost and returned to the garden,” explained Aris. In another session, Edwin Bahari explained the production process, implementation management and quarantine regulations that apply to banana products that will enter the export market.

Young Expert Policy Analyst for National Logistics Development at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Andias Wibisono, stated that in collaboration to develop national logistics, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs is collaborating with TLIAP – NUS and ITL Trisakti to conduct a study on the supply chain of national superior products. This includes the main driving commodities, transportation infrastructure, logistics players and service providers, technology, information and communications, HR management, as well as regulations, rules and regulations. If all these aspects improve, then this can have a positive effect on the smooth running of logistics activities so that logistics costs can be reduced.

An effective and efficient National Logistics System is one of the main drivers for national economic progress and growth. In the midst of increasingly high global economic competition, a quality Sislognas is an added value for Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global economic arena.
