PT GGP Helps Residents Affected by Floods and Landslides

PT Great Giant Pineapple (PT GGP), located in Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung, has carried out its social responsibility by providing basic food assistance and basic necessities to residents who were victims of flash floods and landslides in Pekon Way Kerap, Semaka District, Tanggamus Regency on Tuesday (5/12).

On this occasion, Putri Kusumawardani, Corporate Relations Development (CRD) Staff, with great concern representing Hendri Tanujaya, Sub-Div Head of Corporate Affairs PT GGP, handed over GGF Peduli assistance to the Lampung CSR Forum. This assistance will then be distributed evenly to residents affected by the flood and landslide disasters in Pekon Way Kerap. The aid handover process was carried out in a symbolic event at the aid reception post in Bandar Lampung, which was attended by the Secretary of the Lampung CSR Forum, Endah. On this occasion, Endah expressed her sincere thanks to PT GGP for its attention to the Semaka community, and she emphasized that this assistance was very beneficial for the Way Kerap residents who were experiencing difficulties.

“This assistance has a big impact on the residents of Way Kerap. “Hopefully the good actions of PT GGP can be a positive example, and we hope the company continues to develop and make positive contributions to society,” said Endah. It is important to note that this area often experiences disasters, and every time it rains, the risk of embankments breaking or landslides is always lurking, added Endah.

Providing assistance such as basic necessities, rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, toothpaste, soap and toothbrushes is a tangible result of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities carried out by PT GGP, as a form of the company’s concern for the surrounding community. Meanwhile, Putri Kusumawardani, a representative from PT GGP, explained that the company’s aim in providing this assistance was to provide support to residents affected by the disaster by providing basic necessities and other basic needs. With this assistance, it is hoped that the burden felt by Way Kerap residents, especially those in Semaka District, can be slightly softened.

The company also wants to establish good relationships with communities directly affected, and hopes that in the future, if there are similar problems or disasters, PT GGP can provide more effective and sustainable assistance. Hopefully, over time, the collaboration between PT GGP and the Lampung CSR Forum can continue to develop with stronger synergy.

With this synergy, it is hoped that the assistance provided will not only be one-time, but can also cover a wider and sustainable spectrum. It is hoped that improving the quality of this collaboration can have a greater positive impact on communities in need, especially our brothers and sisters who have been affected by disasters.
