PT GGP Socializes Waste Bank in Bandar Agung Village

The Corporate Relations Development Team, PT Great Giant Pineapple (CRD – GGP) conducted socialization regarding the waste bank pilot project in Bandar Agung village, Laluan Nunyai District to KKN students of the Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA), Lampung.

The socialization was carried out to coincide with the 4th anniversary of Karang Taruna Kampung Bandar Agung which was attended by the village head, community, youth organization administrators and ITERA KKN students, Friday (19/1).

“This waste will be managed into recycled products that have sales value sourced from household waste or market waste in Bandar Agung village. “It can also be managed into MSME products,” explained Ricky Oktarizal as PIC of the Waste Bank Project.

The Head of Bandar Agung Village, Mr. Slamet Sutopo, provided support for the waste bank project plan which will be carried out in his village together with Karang Taruna which will collaborate with ITERA KKN Students.

“This program is certainly very good because apart from generating added value, it can also create a clean and healthy environment. “We are ready to collaborate in handling this waste, especially with support from PT GGP,” he said.

Apart from being a recycled product, waste can also be used as an alternative feed for maggot cultivation, the derivatives of which will produce compost. “In Bandar Agung itself, we already have a Maggot cultivation group which has been under the guidance of PT GGP,” he added.

PT GGP together with BUMDes and Karang Taruna Bandar Agung often conduct comparative studies regarding waste management in several successful areas, such as Metro City and Bandar Lampung, said Mr Ricky.
