Skilled Hands Behind PT GGP’s Uniforms

Through its Sewing Partnership Program, Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) has supported hundreds of local tailors since 1990, creating opportunities for communities surrounding its operational areas to build skills, strengthen their livelihoods, and grow more independently.
The program enables participants to develop their sewing capabilities while earning additional income, which can reach an average of IDR 2–3 million per month. Today, six community sewing groups operate across villages including Lempuyang Bandar, Terbanggi Besar, and Gunung Batin Udik, regularly producing uniforms, workwear, masks, and other operational apparel for GGP.
Beyond providing economic opportunities, the partnership has also helped build confidence and pride among the participating tailors. Their work has become part of the everyday lives of GGF employees across the company’s operations.
GGP believes that sustainable growth begins with people—those who are empowered to learn, develop new capabilities, and progress together. Through inclusive partnerships such as this, GGP continues to strengthen local economic resilience while fostering a community in which both the company and its surrounding communities can grow together.
