Middle Eastern Ambassadors Visit GGF Farm and Factory in Lampung

Lampung, 6 March 2018 – Great Giant Foods (GGF) welcomed the Ambassadors of Morocco (H.E. Oudia Benadellah), Lebanon (H.E. Mona El Tannir), Yemen (H.E. Ali Saleh Al Najar), Saudi Arabia (H.E. Salim Abdulrahman), and Kuwait (H.E. Abdullah Al Fadhli) to its farm and factory in Lampung. The visit, accompanied by Sunarko from Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aimed to explore opportunities for expanding exports of GGF products to the Middle East and strengthening international partnerships.

The delegation was received by Wayan Ardana, GGF Production Director, alongside the company’s senior management team. In his remarks, Ardana highlighted GGF’s strong presence in the region, with 368 containers of canned pineapple exported in 2017—including 301 to Saudi Arabia, 22 to Yemen, 12 to Kuwait, 5 to Bahrain, 13 to Lebanon, 9 to Qatar, and 26 to the United Arab Emirates. In addition, GGF exported 116 containers of fresh bananas to the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.

As part of the tour, the Ambassadors also observed GGF’s integrated waste management system, where cattle farm waste is utilized as fertilizer and liquid waste is processed into biogas. This biogas is then converted into methanol gas, which replaces up to 7% of coal usage at GGF’s power plant—demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.
