Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung (8 December 2023) – PT Great Giant Livestock (PT GGL) received a working visit from the DKI Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture Service (KPKP) as part of the government’s efforts to ensure the availability of safe, healthy, intact, and halal (ASUH) animal products, while preventing the entry of strategic infectious animal diseases into the DKI Jakarta area.
Head of Livestock and Animal Health Division of DKI Jakarta Province, drh. Rismiati, explained that the visit was conducted to monitor product quality and strengthen preventive measures.
“Our visit to PT GGL aims to ensure the health and safety of animal products and to prevent potential disease transmission into the DKI Jakarta area. We also encourage communication with producers and sellers regarding disease prevention, biosecurity implementation, and reporting of suspected infectious cases,” said Rismiati.
The initiative aligns with Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 17 of 2023, which governs the movement of animal products entering DKI Jakarta. The visit was also accompanied by drh. Anwar Basri, Head of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Division of Lampung Province, as part of cross-regional coordination.
“The KPKP Service continues to carry out outreach and coordination with livestock and animal health agencies as well as veterinary authorities in supplying regions,” added Rismiati.
Through these efforts, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government aims to strengthen supervision and guarantee that all animal products distributed in the capital meet safety and health standards, in line with Jakarta’s vision as a Global City.
PT GGL’s Commitment to Quality and Biosecurity
The delegation was welcomed by Yunianto Eko Nugroho, Dairy Farm Department Head of PT GGL, who emphasized the company’s commitment to food security and product quality.
“PT GGL is committed to maintaining good, healthy, and halal standards for every product entering the consumer market, especially since most of our products are distributed to Jakarta,” said Yunianto.
He further explained that PT GGL has long implemented preventive measures, including regular vaccination programs every six months starting from calves, as well as providing continuous guidance to partner farmers to safeguard livestock assets.
“We must ensure that all products leaving PT GGL are free from disease risk. This is particularly important as our fattening livestock products are also sent to Jakarta,” he added.
Through this visit, PT GGL reaffirms its alignment with government initiatives to guarantee safe and sustainable livestock production, ensuring consumer trust and supporting national food security.
