LPEI Inaugurates Pisang Mas Tanggamus Foreign Exchange Village

In order to support the government’s program to empower Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Indonesia Eximbank consistently strives to increase the capacity of export-oriented cooperatives and MSMEs. One of the initiatives is through the Foreign Exchange Village Development Program, which focuses on community development-based activities.

Head of the SMEs Advisory Services Division of the Indonesian Export Financing Agency, Ilham Mustafa, inaugurated the Pisang Mas Foreign Exchange Village in Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province, which was carried out in collaboration with LPEI. This program aims to increase exports and foreign exchange earnings in a sustainable manner, and is expected to contribute to increasing the welfare and income of farming households through integration into a sustainable global export supply chain.

The inauguration of the Pisang Mas Foreign Exchange Village in Tanggamus was also attended by the Regional Head of DJP Bengkulu and Lampung, Rosmauli; Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Finance for Lampung Province, Estty Purwadiani Hidayatie; Head of PT GGP’s Way Lunik Export Office, Budhi Setiawan; Head of the TJSL & ESG Division of PT Reinsurance Indonesia Utama, Mardian Adhitya; Head of Sumberejo Subdistrict, Suwarno; Head of Margoyoso Village, Sudibyo; and Chairman of the Green Makmur Farmers Cooperative, Sigit Wicaksono.

On this occasion, LPEI together with the Ministry of Finance One, the Lampung Class I Agricultural Quarantine Center, PT Great Giant Pineapple, and the Makmur Green Farmers Cooperative held training to strengthen business management as well as technical training regarding the quality and cultivation of golden bananas for export. This training was held in the Multipurpose Building Hall, Sumberejo District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province, on Friday (01/8). Devisa Village, represented by the Tani Hijau Makmur Cooperative, is a supplier of golden bananas for PT GGP for export purposes. The government, through LPEI, gives appreciation to the Green Makmur Tani Cooperative for their role as a supplier to GGP as an offtaker. Waliyuddin hopes that, with assistance through the Village Foreign Exchange Program, banana mas exports can increase from 7% of total production to 20%. Apart from that, a garden demonstration plot will be carried out as a reference for farmers, that good banana cultivation can produce high exports, he added.

GGF Showcases Product Innovations at Jakarta Fair 2024

Jakarta, June 12 – July 14, 2024 – The Jakarta Fair 2024 served as a strategic platform for Great Giant Foods (GGF) to introduce its latest product innovations beyond the well-known Sunpride brand. At Hall C3 No. 63, JIExpo Kemayoran, GGF presented a wide range of fresh and processed products, including fruit varieties outside its signature banana line.

To enliven the exhibition, GGF opened a booth featuring diverse offerings:

  • Sunpride Lyfe – An innovative, premium banana chip available in unique flavors such as BBQ, Chili Lemon, and Chocolate.

  • Hometown Dairy – Fresh milk made from pure cow’s milk, processed through a 15-second pasteurization at 72°C. This method preserves its natural nutrients, resulting in a bold, creamy taste without added water, sugar, fortification, or preservatives.

  • Honi Pineapple – A superior export-quality pineapple, also offered as free samples and in the form of refreshing pineapple-flavored soft-serve ice cream.

A major highlight was the introduction of Sunpride Canned Juice, crafted from 100% pure Honi Pineapple juice without added sugar. This premium product stands out from many competing juices in the market, which often contain only 5–20% real fruit juice combined with artificial sweeteners and additives.

According to Tommy Wattimena, President Director of GGF, the new product represents a breakthrough in premium juice quality.

“Sunpride canned juice is made entirely from pure fruit juice and produced under strict food safety standards using advanced pasteurization technology. This ensures not only safety and freshness but also preserves the natural flavor and nutrients of the fruit,” he explained.

The product is available in five refreshing variants: pineapple, pineapple guava, pineapple passion fruit, pineapple apple, and pineapple mango. Thanks to its advanced processing technology, the juice remains free from preservatives and artificial sweeteners while maintaining a long shelf life — allowing consumers to enjoy its freshness and premium quality for longer.

Through these innovations, GGF reaffirms its commitment to delivering products that are not only delicious but also healthy and safe for all consumers, while continuing to set new standards in Indonesia’s agribusiness and FMCG industry.

GGF Shares Insights on Building Connected Workplaces at The Economic Times Future Forward Summit 2024

Jakarta, August 13, 2024 – In today’s increasingly digitalized world of work, one of the biggest challenges companies face is maintaining strong relationships between individuals and teams despite reduced direct interactions. Addressing this issue, the Economic Times Future Forward Summit 2024, held at the Pullman Hotel Jakarta, adopted the theme “The Great Connect: Creating Connected Workplaces” to explore strategies for fostering workplace connectivity.

The event gathered HR professionals and industry leaders to discuss strategies, technologies, and cultural shifts that help organizations build connected work environments while navigating the disruptions brought by AI. Among the speakers was Tommy Wattimena, President Director of Great Giant Foods (GGF), who shared insights on the transformative role of connectivity in the workplace.

While AI offers vast opportunities for efficiency and innovation, it also raises concerns about preserving the human aspects of work. Tommy emphasized the importance of balance:

“One thing is certain — the combination of human thinking with AI technology will accelerate productivity and open new horizons for innovation and the way we work in the future.”

He further highlighted that AI’s impact extends beyond efficiency, influencing workforce culture across multiple generations.

“AI will definitely affect both workforce and culture, especially since our employees come from three different generations. This creates a unique dynamic in the workplace. If we use AI wisely, this diversity can drive productivity and inspire new, innovative ways of doing business,” Tommy explained.

As one of Indonesia’s leading companies, GGF demonstrated its commitment to balancing technology adoption with human-centered values. By integrating innovation with employee well-being, the company ensures that workplaces remain not only productive but also inclusive and empowering in the face of AI-driven change.
