Aceh Governor Nova Iriansyah visits the location of the Cavendish banana nursery in Pintu Rime Gayo District, Bener Meriah Regency on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Nova Iriansyah is accompanied by the Aceh Secretary, Assistant II to the Aceh Regional Secretary, Chair of the Aceh PKK, Deputy Regent Bener Meriah, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Aceh Plantation, Head of the Administrative Bureau for the Aceh Secretariat, and Bener Meriah District Government officials.

The governor and his entourage headed to the location of the land planned to be planted with Cavendish bananas. The plan is that in the near future the Cavendish banana seedlings will be planted in a 12-hectare plantation in Blang Rakal Village, Pintu Rime Gayo District. During the agenda, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, will be present at the Cavendish banana planting ceremony.

PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) is collaborating with the Department of Agriculture and Food of Bener Meriah Regency for Cavendish banana breeding in the context of developing economic potential in the Bener Meriah Regency area. The planting of horticultural products is not only planting for the benefit of PT GGP, but also the transfer of techniques and knowledge supported by technology, so that farmers can produce superior products.

In terms of fiscal facilities, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) assists PT GGP in obtaining Bonded Zone (KB) facilities as in Lampung. Meanwhile, the Bener Meriah Regency Government will facilitate and provide convenience in obtaining permits and providing land.
