Director General of PPKTrans Ministry of Villages, PDT, and Transmigration Review Banana Partnership

The Directorate General of Transmigration Area Development and Development (PPKTrans) Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Aisyah Gamawati made a working visit to the Tanggamus banana partnership center on Monday, March 14, 2022. The visit of the Director General of PPKTrans and his entourage to review the Creating Shared Value (CSV) program the banana mas partnership between farmers and PT GGP in Tanggmus Regency to be replicated in the Transmigration area. Some of the agendas during the working visit included seeing the Mas banana plantations and having direct dialogue with the farmers who joined the Green Makmur Farmers Producer Cooperative.

Accompanying the Director General of PPKTrans Aisyah Gamawati, Inspector General of the Ministry of Villages Ekatmawati, Director of Planning for the Realization of Transmigration Areas Bambang Widyatmiko, Deputy Regent of Tanggamus Muhammad Syafe’i, Director of Corporate Affairs Welly Soegiono, Chairman of the Makmur Green Farmer Producers Cooperative Sigit Wicaksono.

In a discussion with group guests, Welly Soegiono said that the number of partners of Mas banana farmers who have joined the Green Makmur Farmer Producer Cooperative is 766 farmers with 400 hectares of Mas banana plantations located in 10 sub-districts in Tanggamus Regency.

“The banana mas partnership program in Tanggamus started in 2016 and in the second year until now, it has been able to provide achievements of approximately 75 tons of exports to various countries, namely Singapore, China and began to expand to Japan,” said Welly. Aisyah Gamawati, while discussing, emphasized that the development of a business without a partner is very slow. Therefore, the Ministry of Villages, PDT and Transmigration continue to seek approaches with business people to be able to partner with farmers such as those in Tanggamus through the banana mas partnership which is integrated with cattle farming.

“We are here to learn. Later, the knowledge that we get from you gentlemen will later be developed in other areas so that all are equally prosperous, “said Aisyah.

Therefore, he hopes that he can get real information like what farmers here have done through PT GGP’s CSV program, which can be replicated in the area.
