Director of the Ministry of Industry Visits GGF

Great Giant Foods (GGF) received a working visit from the Director of the Tobacco Beverage and Refreshing Materials Industry, the Directorate General of Agro Industry, and the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Edy Sutopo on Thursday, November 4, 2021 in Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung.

During the working visit, Edy Sutopo and his entourage directly reviewed one by one the business units under GGF. Among them are PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP), PT Great Giant Livestock (GGL), PT Bromelain Enzyme (BE), and PT Inbio Tani Nusantara (ITN).

According to Edy, GGF is extraordinary, being able to become the company’s ideal business model. This is due to the implementation of integrated business with one another. Environmental Management related to the implementation of zero waste in a sustainable environment is already good and is confirmed to have efficiency values.

The cooperative partnership pattern that was built with farmers through the Creating Shared Value (CSV) program attracted Edy’s attention. He believes that the industry run by GGF not only creates profit for the company, but also contributes to improving the welfare of the community.

“What GGF started with its cooperative partnership, we want to learn, especially in the application of e-Grower. We can learn a lot from the business practices that exist at GGF as inspiration for the development of further programs. The business model that has been implemented by GGF can be pushed to other regions so that there is progress in various regions. “Eddy said.

On the occasion, Technical Advisor for Plantation and R&D Fauzan explained at a glance what GGF was doing. Actually, the core business is in pineapple, which has been operating for 36 years and by volume is the largest single area in the world and production in 2021 has reached 700 thousand tons.

“The solid waste of pineapple peel is used for cattle feed, while the liquid waste is used for biogas to replace a certain percentage of coal use for power generation for the company’s needs. Next is the use of cow dung for compost which is returned to the garden for the fertility of plantation production land.” close Fauzan
