Great Giant Foods (GGF) in collaboration with the Dept. Agronomy and Horticulture (AGH) Faculty of Agriculture Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held an online field lecture through the Zoom Meeting application on May 29, 2021. This field lecture activity was opened with remarks from Indra Ardiyanto as Head of Corporate Communications GGF and Ketty Suketi as Representative of the Management AGH PB Field Lecture 2021.
Ketty Suketi expressed her gratitude for the openness of GGF to conduct field lectures. “Thank you to GGF for accepting us to carry out the AGH IPB 2021 field lecture. This event is expected to provide information to students about field activities at GGF,” said Ketty.
This activity was followed with great enthusiasm from the participants, totaling 160 fourth-semester students of AGH IPB. This activity is also expected to help students determine their final project research. The 2021 AGH IPB field lectures were held in various agricultural and plantation sectors ranging from vegetables, ornamental plants, to fruit. The management of the AGH IPB field study chose GGF because it has high quality in the production of fresh and processed fruit.
“We chose to cooperate with GGF because it has the best quality control in the field of fresh and processed fruit. The GGF factory is also directly integrated with plantations,” said Ketty.
Field lectures continued with a material presentation from Quality Assurance Fresh Fruit Sub Dept. Head of PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) Ikhsan Prasetia about plant cultivation at PT GGP. The presentation of the material went smoothly and was well received by the participants with many interesting questions to get more information about plant cultivation at PT GGP. The activity, which lasted for almost two hours, ended with a closing and a group photo session to capture the collaboration between GGF and AGH IPB.
This field lecture is expected to be a place for students to get information about the company even amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Implementation online is not an obstacle to gain knowledge. Indra Ardiyanto also stated that many visits from universities like this have been carried out by GGF. This openness is a form of GGF’s concern for the world of education and information exchange.
