GGF Facilitates Mini Home Biogas (Biomiru) for Cattle Breeding Partners

Great Giant Foods (GGF), Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung provides access to cow dung waste management through the Mini Home Biogas program (Biomiru) to 10 partner cattle breeders who are fostered by the company in Kampung Kayu Palis, Bandar Sakti, Putra Lempuyang, Tanjung Anom, and Big Flying.

In this case, GGF cooperates with the Rumah Energi Foundation (YRE) in the construction of the Biomiru reactor as a solution to the problem of managing cow dung so that it can be used as a renewable source of biogas energy.

Biomiru technology socialization for cattle farmers was held in Tanjung Anom Village on June 7, 2022, while training for Biomiru beneficiaries regarding the operation, maintenance of Biomiru and processing of bio-slurry (biogas waste) which can be used as organic fertilizer for plants will be held on 12 July 2022.

In addition to producing energy, the by-product produced by Biomiru in the form of biogas slurry waste (bio-slurry) can be used as organic fertilizer for plants. The Biomiru program is a form of corporate social responsibility to the community and to support the government’s national program in the use of environmentally friendly renewable energy by providing access to alternative energy sources.

“Hopefully with this Biomiru, the beneficiary community can be economically empowered and can help provide solutions for cattle manure waste management by adopting environmentally friendly behavior.” said Tisa Virgiandriati as a team from Corporate Relations Development GGF.

Biomiru is an innovative biodigester made from a water reservoir made of Poly Ethylene (PE) planted in the ground, a PVC piping installation equipped with an inlet as an input for organic materials and an outlet as a gas pressure balancer and equipped with an inlet for mixing raw materials for sewage, as well as a storage area. biogas waste.

Biomiru can provide a solution for people who want to have a choice of daily energy sources, especially for cooking with raw materials for livestock manure and other organic materials. Biomiru does not require a large area of land, it can be built on a limited area of 3-6 m2.

One of GGF’s partner cattle breeders from Terbanggi Besar Village, a beneficiary of Biomiru, admitted that since using Biomiru, the gas produced can be used for cooking so that it can help reduce the use of LPG gas.
