As part of the commemoration of the Proclamation of 17 August 2024, Great Giant Foods (GGF) Lampung held a flag ceremony to celebrate the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Central Square on Saturday (17/8). This independence ceremony was attended by employees from various business units who united in one ceremonial line. Meanwhile, a similar celebration was also held by GGF Jakarta with the cutting of tumpeng at Sequis Tower on Monday (19/8)
At GGF Lampung, Processed Pine Factory Division Head, Halim Sunarto Jaya, acts as the ceremony inspector. In his message, he invited all levels in every business unit to emulate the spirit of the heroes who fought for the nation’s independence. “Let us be grateful and appreciate as highly as possible that the current condition of Indonesia is the result of the struggle of the heroes 79 years ago against the colonialists for the independence and sovereignty of the Indonesian nation,” said Halim.
Meanwhile, at GGF Jakarta, the celebration began with the singing of the song “Indonesia Raya,” led by Viasido, as part of the tribute to the nation’s warriors. The event then continued with a tumpeng cutting session represented by Tommy Wattimena, as President Director of Great Giant Foods, and attended by Setiawan Achmad, Commissioner of GGF. After that, employees enjoyed various mini games and the announcement of the winner with the best dress. At GGF Lampung, the independence event was also enlivened with a music concert, where employees attended wearing red and white clothing which filled the Central Square, creating an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and togetherness.
The spirit of togetherness created in the celebrations at these two locations not only reflects respect for the values of the nation’s struggle, but also strengthens bonds between all employees.
