Great Giant Foods (GGF) Lampung, received a visit from the 2024 Domestic Strategic Study (SSDN) Regular Education Program Force (PPRA) LXVI Year 2024 from the National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI). Lemhannas RI was warmly received by the Management of Great Giant Foods (GGF) at the GGF Lampung Training Center Building, Tuesday (14/5).
Corporate Affairs GGF Lampung Subdiv Head Mr. Hendri Tanujaya accompanied the Director of Corporate Affairs Mr Welly Soegiono, to welcome and thank him for choosing GGF as one of the objects visited in the 2024 Lemhannas RI SSDN PPRA LXVI activities.
During the visit, Mr. Welly Soegiono explained that GGF in area has 32 thousand hectares of plantation land located in 3 districts, namely Central Lampung, North Lampung and East Lampung. GGF estimates that there are approximately 18 thousand labor-intensive workers throughout the year.
“GGF implements a circular economy. Where one business unit is connected to other business units in an integrated manner. Great Giant Foods oversees several business units, namely PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP), PT Great Giant Livestock (GGL), PT Umas Jaya Agrotama (UJA), PT Inbio Tani Nusantara (ITN), and PT Bromelain Enzyme (BE).
On this occasion, Mr. Welly Soegiono also conveyed the achievements of Great Giant Pineapple, which is currently the number 1 largest pineapple processing plantation company in the world with an export market covering 65 countries. While other businesses slumped during the Covid-19 pandemic, exports of processed pineapple products increased by 25%. “GGF can still employ its employees, not laying them off or even terminating their employment,” explained Mr Welly.
GGF is also developing a pattern of cooperation with farmers through the creating shared value (CSV) program in several sectors such as the mas banana and cavendish banana partnership which is already running in several provinces in Indonesia. As well as cattle fattening partnerships and livestock self-sufficiency partnerships, he continued.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Lemhannas, represented by Rear Admiral TNI Mr. I Wayan Suarjaya as the leader of the 2024 Lemhannas RI SSDN PPRA LXVI group, said that Lemhannas RI is a non-ministerial government institution whose position is subordinate to and directly responsible to the President, one of its duties and functions. is to provide education to prepare cadres and strengthen National Level Leadership.
According to him, this activity aims to provide PPRA LXVI Lemhannas RI participants with direct research experience on various regional problems through study visits, hearings and discussions according to the objective conditions of a region which is part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
