Jakarta, 20 December 2022 – Great Giant Foods (GGF) was recognized as one of five major companies to receive the 2022 Tempo Circular Economy Award, winning two awards for its Circular Food Estate and Waste to Energy initiatives. The awards were received by Arief Fatullah, Head of Sustainability at GGF, during the ceremony held at the Tempo Building.

The Tempo Circular Economy Award is designed to acknowledge companies that successfully implement circular economy principles in their operations. This initiative reflects Indonesia’s broader agenda to advance a circular economy across various sectors, with the aim of protecting the environment, reducing waste, and optimizing resource efficiency.

Although this was the first time the award was held, Arif Zulkifli, Director of Tempo Media Group, affirmed that it would continue in the coming years, with expanded categories across more industries. “We will continue to develop the Tempo Circular Economy Award in the future. Tempo itself is committed to adopting circular economy practices step by step,” he said in his remarks.

The award highlights the importance of recognizing organizations that have pioneered circular economy practices, particularly in industries still largely operating under linear models. For GGF, this achievement reaffirms its commitment to sustainable innovation and its role as a frontrunner in driving positive change through circular economy initiatives.
