Great Giant Foods Honored by Ministry of Health for Covid-19 Emergency Support

Jakarta, December 29, 2021 – Great Giant Foods (GGF) received recognition from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI) for its active role in supporting emergency response efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic. The award was presented by Deputy Minister of Health, Dante Saksono, at the Adhyatma Building, Ministry of Health, South Jakarta.

GGF was one of 37 organizations acknowledged for providing assistance to the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory Emergency Hospital and for contributing medical equipment to several regions in Indonesia. This support was facilitated through the Health Determinant Analysis Center in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Service Facilities and the Health Crisis Center of the Ministry of Health.

Deputy Minister Dante Saksono highlighted the importance of collective action. “This award is a form of appreciation from the Ministry of Health to all donors who contributed to handling the Covid-19 emergency in Indonesia. It reflects our culture of gotong royong, a spirit of solidarity that must be preserved,” he said.

Inspector General of the Ministry of Health, Murti Utami, reported that donor contributions amounted to Rp 5.9 billion in goods and financial aid. Most of this support was directed to the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory Emergency Hospital, with the remainder distributed to regional health offices and hospitals as needed.

Representing GGF,  Indra Ardiyanto received the award plaque. “GGF has a strong commitment to work hand in hand with the government in managing and preventing Covid-19. We have provided various forms of support, including PPE, isolation facilities, PCR machines for Central Lampung Hospital, fruit and milk donations, basic necessities, and disinfectant spraying,” he said.
