Great Giant Foods Wins Two Awards at Indonesia’s Best Corporate Sustainability Initiatives 2023

Jakarta, 18 January 2023Great Giant Foods (GGF) proudly received two prestigious awards at the Indonesia’s Best Corporate Sustainability Initiatives 2023, organized by MIX MarComm Magazine (SWA Group). Entering its 7th year, this annual program recognizes companies in Indonesia for their outstanding corporate sustainability and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives.

GGF was honored in the categories of Circular Economy and Creating Shared Value (CSV). The awards were handed over by SWA Group Chief Editor, Kemal Effendi Gani, and received directly by Jane Fransisca, Managing Director of Financial Accounting and Corporate Strategy at GGF, during a ceremony at the LSPR Jakarta Auditorium.

In her remarks, Jane Fransisca expressed gratitude and reaffirmed GGF’s commitment to sustainability:

“I would like to thank MIX MarComm Magazine and SWA Group for this recognition. Since 2016, through our Creating Shared Value program, GGF has been collaborating with local fruit farmers. Today, we work with around 1,400 farmers, and we aim to expand this collaboration to reach 3,000 farmers in the future.”

Meanwhile, Lis Hendriani, Editor-in-Chief of MIX MarComm Magazine, emphasized that the program uses the concept of Marketing & Corporate Social Initiatives developed by Philip Kotler and Nancy Lee, to push companies beyond conventional CSR.

“We want the business world to spread sustainability initiatives more broadly and encourage them to be more creative, innovative, and relevant to their business,” said Lis.

Beyond CSV, GGF has also embedded the Circular Economy principle into its operations with a measurable and integrated approach from upstream to downstream. Waste and non-commercial products are reprocessed into valuable resources, creating business opportunities that benefit not only farmers and ranchers as partners, but also local communities and consumers.

This recognition reaffirms GGF’s role as a pioneer in sustainable agribusiness, continuously driving innovation while creating shared value for all stakeholders.
