The demonstration plot of liquid biological fertilizer Liquid Organic Biofertilizer (LOB) which was applied to rice plants resulted in quite satisfactory results for farmers. The LOB demonstration plot has been accompanied by treatment to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers by 25 percent and 50 percent. However, the grain produced reached a tonnage of 9 tons per hectare compared to the control land where the tonnage was only 6 tons in one planting.
Through Big Farmers Field Day, PT Inbio Tani Nusantara (ITN) is committed to helping increase rice farmers’ crop production through the use of LOB liquid biofertilizer products. LOB technology is in line with the Ministry of Agriculture’s goal of reducing chemical residues on agricultural land. This was conveyed by the Head of the Lampung Agricultural Technology Study Center, Jekvy Hendra, who was present at the Big Farmers Field Day event at the LOB Liquid Biofertilizer demonstration plot in collaboration with the Lampung Province Agricultural Instrument Standardization Agency (BSIP) in Bumiharjo Village, Batanghari District, Lampung Regency East, Thursday (28/3).
Jekvy said that by implementing the use of LOB in rice fields, the harvest can be abundant. Apart from increasing production, LOB can also help meet national rice needs. “Today’s harvest, by reducing the application of chemical fertilizers, has proven that LOB has shown a good increase in yields. “Usually it’s only 6 tons, with LOB it can reach 9 tons per hectare,” said Jekvy. Furthermore, he emphasized that given the scarcity of chemical fertilizers, rising prices of agricultural inputs, and uncertain seasons, LOB is the best solution to help agriculture in Lampung.
Present at the joint harvest event at the LOB and BSIP Lampung demonstration plot locations included the Head of the Food Crops Division of Lampung Province Ida Rahmawati, the Head of the East Lampung Food Security Service Tri Wibowo, the Head of the Batanghari District Mira Hayati, the Head of the Batanghari Police, Iptu Erson Hamzah, the Danramil Batanghari Captain Inf Jumingan, as well as the farmers from three districts who have implemented LOB on their agricultural land are from South Lampung, Central Lampung and East Lampung.
Also present were the entire management of Great Giant Foods (GGF) and PT Inbio Tani Nusantara, including CEO Protein & Plant Based Josep Lay, Director of External Affairs Welly Soegiono, and LOB & Compost Production Head Pardi Tanojo. Head of the East Lampung Food Security Service, Tri Wibowo, also expressed his thanks to PT ITN for introducing LOB as a revolutionary product to farmers and hopes that it can soon be massively adapted to agricultural land.
“We really support the launch of LOB. We hope that if this LOB is very beneficial for farmers, the price will not be increased. “It’s time for farmers to prosper and not be underestimated,” said Tri.
Meanwhile, in his speech, Josep Lay emphasized that the LOB was created based on the company’s needs and experience as the largest pineapple plantation and canning industry in the world. Because the LOB product has been proven to be good, it has been tested on farmers. It turns out the results are very satisfying, as we saw today’s rice harvest using LOB biological liquid fertilizer. “Through this product, we hope to help improve the welfare of farmers. This LOB demonstration plot has been carried out until the fourth season of rice planting, the increase in production reached 29 percent. “If something is good and the benefits can be felt, the new company will share it with farmers,” said Josep.
Misrok, a farmer from Sekampung Village, East Lampung, said that providing LOB can help increase harvests and reduce the use of pesticides. Imam, a farmer from Batanghari Village, said that he has been using LOB since 2019 and has gradually reduced the use of chemical fertilizers. Furthermore, Dharmaya, a farmer from South Lampung, admitted that he had been using LOB since 2016 in his rice fields and until now continues to apply LOB because his crop yields are increasing.
