The Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia is interested in replicating the PT Great Giant Pineapple (PT GGP) banana partnership CSV program in transmigration areas. This was disclosed by the Directorate General of Transmigration Area Development and Development (PPKTrans) Aisyah Gamawati during a working visit at PT GGP, Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung, Tuesday 15 March 2022. The Director General of PPKTrans, said that his presence at PT GGP was a follow-up desired by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy to learn about the partnership business model or Creating Shared Value (CSV) program conducted by PT GGP with farmers.
“In this Ministry there are 152 transmigration areas throughout Indonesia, therefore I want what PT GGP has implemented can be replicated in transmigration locations because the potential is extraordinary, both in terms of human resources and land,” said Aisyah.
“I saw for myself how the farmer’s activities, including the Banana Packing House (PH) activities, were there, apart from empowering the community, there were mutually beneficial business activities. And after talking with the farmers, none of the farmers complained,” said Aisyah.
Our team has tried surveys in several places including West Kalimantan, East Almahera and I will add again in Lampung, precisely in the Mesuji area, collaboration with an integrated plantation system with livestock, is the same as what was done by PT GGP, he added.
On that occasion, Welly explained that what was seen in Tanggamus was actually a small form of what was being done at PT GGP with an integrated business model of plantations and livestock.
