PT GGL and IPB Trial Depolarization Valve Innovation

As a form of implementing the Matching Fund (MF) Program – Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) in 2021, the program proposer team led by Prof. Drh Agik Suprayogi held the second Focus Group Discussion (FGD).

The FGD was held at the Training Center (TC) Hall of PT Great Giant Livestock (PT GGL), on Monday, November 1, 2021. The FGD which was held for the second time raised the theme “Animal Health Management and Intensive Cattle Farming. Learning from PT GGL and IPB”.

The FGD was attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH), the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) students and PT GGL professionals. Head of the Dairy Cattle Division of PT GGL Yuliantoni Queen in her speech said that the collaboration with IPB University was a blessing.

The main activity in this FGD is a depolarization catuk trial that will provide benefits to the farming community. Prof. Agik said that IPB’s collaboration with PT GGL was very important. “We hope to be able to develop the Tetra-Helix concept in developing IPB’s downstream innovations for smallholder farms. This is in the form of a complete cow feed equipped with a depolarizing valve.” said Prof. Agik.

Present at the FGD were animal health and animal husbandry experts, including Dr. Dr. Herry Suhartono who discussed “Metabolic Disease Management and Surgery in Dairy and Beef Cattle Farms”, and Dr. Dr. Sri Murtini discussed “Potentials for Infectious Diseases in Cattle”.

In addition, Dr. Dr. Koekoeh Santoso discussed “Utilization of Health Data Acquisition System in the Framework of Building a Precision and Smart Livestock”, Dr. Afton Atabany who discussed “Measuring the Quality of Livestock Meat and Dairy Products”, and Dr. Saludik who discussed “Management and utilization of Ruminant Livestock Waste”.
