Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency (Barantin), Sahat Manaor Panggabean, paid a working visit to PT Great Giant Pineapple (PT GGP) Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung. This is an honor for PT GGP as the number 1 producer of canned pineapple products in the world, which Sahat has visited since being inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on the 14th.

Head of the Bandar Lampung Class I Agricultural Quarantine Center, Donni Muksydayan, also accompanied Barantin when he inspected the quarantine facilities at PT GGP and saw firsthand the activities of the Banana Packing House and the canned pineapple processing process at the Cannery Factory. The visiting group of the Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency was received by the Director of Corporate Affairs of Great Giant Foods (GGF), Welly Soegiono, accompanied by Corporate Affairs Lampung Subdiv Head Hendri Tanujaya at the Great Giant Foods (GGF) Lampung Training Center Building, on Thursday (9/11).
“Today’s visit, we want to see the Quarantine activities at PT GGP, ensure that all the flows here are followed by friends in Quarantine. Ensure that the conditions to which we send products can be met. “I see that all existing systems are good, cooperation with quarantine communication is good. I express my appreciation because PT GGP also involves the community through the Creating Shared Value (CSV) program. “In any case, society must be prosperous through coaching and I ask that in the future more and more people will be coached by companies and friends in quarantine,” said Sahat.
In his speech, Welly Soegiono welcomed the direct presence of the Head of the Quarantine Agency and his staff. In this way, you can see directly that all this time PT GGP has worked according to procedures, in accordance with all certifications, in accordance with hazard certification. Starting with quality so it is natural to reach world level. On the other hand, Sahat hopes that the community needs help, especially if it can help with market access. Those are our hopes and I think this program is very good and I ask quarantine friends to follow this example and convey it or duplicate it in other places. A good concept is not only in terms of zero waste production and a circular economy, but also the community is involved. So the two things that I think are important to pay attention to are not just talking about the economy or business, but also helping the community.
“I see that with this concept, there will be more job opportunities for tens of thousands of gardens. Apart from opening up jobs, it also opens up more productive land. One model that can be applied in other places so that Indonesia can progress more quickly, I also see that the openness of information at PT GGP is very good. I deliberately followed the flow from upstream to downstream, all stages were explained well. If people want to learn, I think you can immediately imagine what they want. Even if you want to publish it elsewhere, it will be easier because each stage is clearly informed. I think openness of information also needs to continue to be promoted. “The language in Indonesia must be an example and PT GGP can be an example for others,” he concluded.
