Jakarta, 8 October 2022 – Great Giant Foods (GGF), through its flagship fresh fruit brand Sunpride, once again took part in the Peak Event and Closing Ceremony of the 7th Indonesian Fruits Festival (GBN) held in Jakarta on Saturday (8/10).
The annual event, initiated by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia together with key stakeholders, aims to encourage higher consumption of Indonesian fruits among the public. This year’s theme, “Consumption of Archipelago Fruits for a Healthy Indonesia,” highlights the importance of local fruits in promoting healthier lifestyles.
Deputy for Coordinating Food and Agribusiness, Musdhalifah Machmud, representing the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, emphasized the broader goals of the program:
-
cultivating a love of fruit among children,
-
supporting the growth of the local fruit agribusiness,
-
improving farmers’ income,
-
positioning Indonesian fruits as key players domestically, and
-
boosting fruit exports to compete globally.
“We hope the 7th GBN will serve as a momentum for the revival of archipelago fruits—achieving success at home and competitiveness abroad at competitive prices. Beyond that, GBN can also become a platform for promotion and education nationwide, raising public awareness to love and consume Indonesian fruits,” Musdhalifah stated.
Through Sunpride’s participation, GGF reaffirms its commitment to supporting national initiatives that uplift local farmers, strengthen Indonesia’s fruit industry, and encourage healthier consumption habits across society.
