Wantannas RI Visits PT GGP

The Secretary General of the National Resilience Council (Wantannas) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) paid a visit to PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) on Monday, October 25, 2021 at the PT GGP Training Center Building, Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung. The Wantannas delegation was received by representatives of PT GGP management, namely, Managing Director Wayan Ardana who was accompanied by Technical Advisor for Plantation and R&B Fauzan and Corporate Affairs Sn. Manager Hendri Tanujaya.

Deputy for Assessment and Sensing Admiral TNI Greg. Agung WD, M.Tr (Han) as the person in charge of the Wantannas RI said that the main task of the Wantannas was to provide studies and input related to strategic policies directly to the President. “The membership of Wantannas involves 13 Ministries whose aim is to encourage an inclusive economy with an environmentally friendly approach model using local wisdom,” said Agung.

This was conveyed because it concerns the life of the nation and state in dealing with state situations. For example, crisis conditions are related to national disturbances, so that what can be done can strengthen the country’s national resilience. According to Agung, one of the prominent agro-industries in Lampung is the company PT GGP.

“Wantannas wants to know if there are potential vulnerabilities or obstacles in the company, especially in terms of social vulnerabilities. If so, what was the problem and how did the suggestions come out. We are not here specifically to solve problems that exist in Lampung, but the results of this study are expected to produce outputs that can be applied in other provinces nationally.”

Technical Advisor for Plantation and R&B Fauzan said that PT GGP was able to grow because from the start it had implemented the Creating Shared Value (CSV) program. “PT GGP realized that from the beginning the CSV program could be a potential for the socio-economic community. Then one of the keys to the success of PT GGP is from the market side, many auditor buyers suggest involving the community in business activities,” concluded Fauzan.
