Well Drilling Assistance Through the PT GGP CSR Program

Residents of Kampung Sukadana Jaya, Sukadana District, East Lampung, were finally able to overcome the clean water crisis after PT Great Giant Pineapple (PT GGP) realized the construction of a drilled well for community needs during the dry season. This was expressed by the Head of Sukadana Jaya Village, Beni, when signing the minutes of the handover of the drilled well as part of PT GGP’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

Beni said, “After deliberation and consensus between residents and Sukadana Jaya Village officials, today the residents’ wishes can be realized with the help of this company which produces canned pineapple and juice in the form of drilled wells. “This is an effort to overcome the crisis of clean water sources, especially during the dry season which often makes it difficult for people to get clean water.” In this way, it is hoped that the community around the company will no longer need to worry about facing a clean water crisis. The handover of the drilled well was represented by the Head of Sukadana Jaya Village and carried out by PT GGP Corporate Relations Development (CRD) Staff, Putri Kusumawardani, and Farid Allawi, accompanied by the Head of CRD Plantation Group 4, Dolly Gultom, along with Mukhson staff on Thursday, 28 December.

Dolly Gultom emphasized that the residents’ wishes had been communicated long ago, and today the drilled well has been handed over to the residents of Sukadana Jaya. “The hope is that this underground water well can be used according to its intended purpose and maintained so that it can be used throughout the year, especially during the dry season,” he said.
