PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) received visits from 300 students and 3 lecturers from the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta Agribusiness Study Program which was conducted online and held on Friday (24/9).

Head of Corporate Communication Indra Ardiyanto said “PT GGP welcomes the arrival of students and lecturers from the Agribusiness Study Program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This activity gives students the opportunity to know about PT GGP in running its business. It is hoped that the students who attend can be inspired and motivated in learning in the world of agribusiness”.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Agribusiness Study Program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Akhmad Mahbubi, SP., MM., Ph.D representing the academic community expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given by PT GGP to students and lecturers who were present at that time.

Akhmad Mahbubi, SP., MM., Ph.D said that the virtual visit program is one way for students to get closer and learn directly about the operations of companies engaged in the horticultural sector. Furthermore, he hopes that this activity will bring many benefits to students.

On that occasion, Technical Support Solid Pack Quality Assurance Factory Foods PT GGP Randy Pramuditha Arifin explained material about The Sustainable of Agroindustry. Randy explained about the long journey of one of GGF’s business units, namely PT GGP, in carrying out its production operations from 1979 to the present.

One of the materials presented was about the implementation of an integrated farming system whose ecosystem starts from plants in plantations, then harvested so that the resulting products can be distributed domestically and abroad (exports). From the product processing process, there are residues that can be processed into cattle feed. Then the cow dung can be processed and produced into biogas which can also be used in factory operations.

Virtual visits conducted by the Agribusiness Study Program of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta to the industrial world are routinely carried out. Before the pandemic, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah did it directly (offline) but during the Covid-19 pandemic it was done online.

At the end of the event, the Head of the Agribusiness Study Program, Mr. Akhmad Mahbubi, SP., MM., Ph.D said that he did not expect and at the same time greatly appreciated the zero waste and Creating Share Value (CSV) program run by PT GGP. He also expressed his hope that in the future the Agribusiness Study Program of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah can establish cooperation in other forms in the frame of self-development of Agribusiness students of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
