PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP), Terbanggi Besar received an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certificate from Customs. The ceremonial handover of the AEO certificate was attended by the West Sumatra Regional Customs Office (Sumbagbar) and the management of PT GGP, the AEO certificate was handed over on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the GGP guest house building. The certificate was handed over directly by the Head of Customs Supervision and Customs Service Office Type B Bandar Lampung, Mrs. Erti Wiyandari to Mr. Welly Sugiono, Corporate Affairs Director of PT GGP.

The submission of an AEO certificate by the Central AEO Team from the Technical Directorate to the Board of Directors is one of the requirements that must be determined. The agenda has implemented a number of strict Covid-19 health protocols.

Esti Wiyandari said that what should be underlined regarding the submission of the AEO certificate is the subsequent process which is no less important. There are several points that will be carried out, including those related to monitoring and evaluation as well as how to maintain and improve the 13 criteria that are the requirements of the AEO.

As the Head of the Customs Supervisory and Excise Service Office for Intermediate Customs B Bandar Lampung, Esti Wiyandari said that by obtaining the AEO certificate, it was hoped that PT GGP would get various customs facilities, one of which was the company’s benefits. As it is known that one of the functions of Customs and Excise is to facilitate business actors in their working areas, both fiscal and procedural facilities, and AEO is included in the category of procedural facilities.

The procedures facilitated by Customs and Excise with the issuance of this certificate are several conveniences for document research, priority simplification of procedures, ease of periodic payments, and special services by the Clean Manager (CM).
“Once PT GGP is approved by the AEO, Customs and Excise immediately appoints the CM who will be the head to head customs service event, PT GGP can conduct any consultation with the appointed CM,” said Esti Wiyandri.

With PT GGP’s good profile so far in internal Customs and the cooperation that has been established, PT GGP hopes to always apply good discipline and according to the time set in carrying out its activities.

“Hopefully, having the AEO certificate won’t let us down. So far, related to certification, when PT GGP will export there are at least 19 supporting certifications as requirements, this is what PT GPP does and we consider it a challenge, “said Welly Sugiono Corporate Affairs Director of PT GGP.

Mr. Welly Sugiono said that until now PT GGP was able to grow well because PT GGP grew together with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. If you think back to the past years in the 1980s, exporting was not easy because you had to bring containers to Jakarta, but now everything has changed and the facilities are developing along with the developments made by Customs and Excise.

“It can be said that PT GGP can grow big because it fights with Customs and Excise. For every problem experienced by PT GGP, Customs always responded well and finally PT GGP was able to export. Lampung, especially Indonesia, has the status as the largest pineapple supplier in the world. This is inseparable from the good cooperation so far,” said Welly Sugiono.

Closing Mr. Welly Sugiono’s remarks, PT GGP is grateful for the good support so far given by Customs and Excise, hopefully this collaboration can be an example in other places.
