Central Government Develops Beef and Banana Cattle Partnership in Tanggamus

The Central Government, through the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, will develop the Cattle Cattle and Banana Cultivation Partnership Program in Tanggamus Regency. This was revealed in the Coordination Meeting for the Development of the Integration Model for Cattle and Banana Cultivation, which was held by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, through a virtual meeting on Thursday, July 8, 2021.

The meeting was attended by the District Secretary (Sekdakab) Tanggamus Hamid H. Lubis, accompanied by Assistant for Ekobang Sukisno, Head of the Catur Food Crops Office, Agus Dewanto, and Head of the Plantation and Livestock Service, Dhani Riza, in the Meeting Room of the Secretary of the District Secretariat of Tanggamus. Meanwhile, the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy was attended by the Assistant Deputy for Food and Agribusiness Coordination, Yuli Sri Wilanti.

The activity was also attended by representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, the Food Crops and Horticulture Office of Lampung Province, the Plantation and Livestock Service Office of Lampung Province, Bank Indonesia Lampung Representative, BRI Pringsewu Branch, and PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP).

Asdep Yuli Sri Wilanti said that the meeting was held to improve the welfare of farmers and ranchers, as well as economic recovery due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as to revive the economy in the region by applying the concept of a sustainable economy (circular economy).

“One of the efforts made is through the development of a partnership model for the integration of cattle and banana cultivation, which will be implemented in Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province,” explained Yuli.

Meanwhile, Regional Secretary Hamid H. Lubis said that the Tanggamus Regency Government was very supportive and responded positively, and was willing to share the budget for existing integrated partnership model development programs.

“So in conclusion, basically we will integrate in the form of programs sourced from the APBD and the action from the related OPD, hopefully this program in its action can later provide benefits for people who are currently facing the Covid-19 pandemic,” closed the Regional Secretary.

Welcoming National Children’s Day 2021, GGF Holds Great Children for Great Future Webinar

Great Giant Foods (GGF) together with PT Sewu Segar Nusantara (SSN) as one of the largest fruit distribution companies in Indonesia under the Sunpride brand, which is also a subsidiary of PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) held a Webinar event which was held to welcome the Day National Children who will be commemorated on July 23, 2021. The webinar was held with the theme Great Children for Great Future which focuses on stunting in children, attended by approximately 300 participants.

The event was opened with remarks from the Deputy Governor of Lampung Hj. Chusnunia Chalim PhD, Regent of Central Lampung H. Musa Ahmad, S.Sos, and Director of Corporate Affairs PT GGP Welly Soegiono. The webinar was hosted by Astryovie, who was also attended by several speakers, namely PT SSN CEO Cindyanto Kristian, Team for the Acceleration of Handling Dwarf Children (TP2AK) Secretariat of the Vice President Dr. dr. Lucy Widasari M, Si and Senior Manager Sustainability Department PT GGP Arief Fatullah.

Deputy Governor of Lampung Hj. Chusnunia Chalim PhD on the occasion said that “At the provincial level, the Governor as a representative of the central government seeks to provide guidance to districts/cities in increasing the integration of nutrition interventions and accelerating stunting reduction, considering the target for reducing stunting rates in Lampung Province in the RPJMD until 2015. 2024 is 14%”.

PT SSN CEO Cindyanto Kristian explained the material about the importance of stunting in children. “Based on the results of nutritional status monitoring (PSG), 1 in 3 Indonesian toddlers is stunted, one of which is a low nutritional intake, from the fetus to the baby aged 2 years. Meanwhile, the Regent of Central Lampung H. Musa Ahmad in his speech said “The Lampung government is very appreciative of the GGF CSR Program, namely Great Indonesia since 2019 in the Central Lampung region by providing additional food to children who suffer from stunting”.

On that occasion Dr. dr. Lucy Widasari M,si as the TP2AK Team of the Presidential Secretariat explained the importance of stunting in children by paying attention to nutrition and nutrition problems in children from an early age. In this way, GGF presents the Great Indonesia program. One of the activities carried out is the provision of supplementary food in the form of fresh fruit and milk to children, especially children who suffer from stunting.

Sunpride Again Wins “Best Branded Fruit” Award from IOB for the 4th Time

Sunpride again successfully received an award from IOB (Indonesia Original Brand) 2021 for the “Best Branded Fruit” category for the 4th time, where the same award was received in 2016, 2017, and 2020. The assessment was carried out through a survey conducted by the agency. Business Digest research together with SWA Magazine. This award was announced in an online event and broadcast on the SwaMediaInc Youtube channel, Friday 16 July 2021.

The survey was conducted on original Indonesian brands that showed the best performance even during this pandemic. It was carried out quantitatively through interviews with brand users using the Multistage Random Sampling technique from around 110 categories, which was conducted in 6 big cities, namely Medan, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, and Makassar. This survey is also conducted on about 5000 respondents every year during the period March to April 2021.

PT GGP and Lampung Police Hold a National Program Vaccination Outlet

Coinciding with the 75th Bhayangkara day, the Lampung Regional Police Bidokkes in collaboration with PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung carried out a national vaccination program to support the acceleration of handling Covid-19. The vaccination activity took place at the Dwi Karya Lempuyang Bandar Multipurpose Cooperative Building which was attended by 350 people on Saturday, July 3, 2021.

This activity was named the Precision Vaccination Outlet as a form of Bhayangkara Health Service for the country. As the theme of the 75th Bhayangkara day, “Precise Police Transformation supports the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19 for Healthy Communities and National Economic Recovery Towards Advanced Indonesia”.

“This vaccination activity for the community is carried out to speed up the vaccination process programmed by the government,” said the person in charge of the vaccination implementation, Kompol Lappy.

Today we are targeting vaccination to 350 people with 30 medical officers from the Lampung Regional Police Bidokkes. Hopefully, the implementation will run smoothly thanks to the support from PT GGP, he continued.

Meanwhile, Head of ERT GGF Lampung, Arief Fatullah, thanked the Lampung Police for facilitating the activity through medical personnel from Bhayangkara Hospital for the implementation of vaccination.

Gunadarma university communications science online visit in GGF

Around 210 students majoring in Communication Studies semester 2 and 4, Gunadarma University (UG) Jakarta attended the online company visit at Great Giant Foods (GGF) Lampung on July 13, 2021. The activity was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic. introducing public relations activities carried out by corporations to students who were present virtually that morning. The event was opened by moderator Dilla Savira, followed by remarks from GGF representatives, namely Head of Communication Indra Ardiyanto and UG representatives, namely Deputy Dean 1 of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Gunadarma University, Dr. Kiayati Yusriah.

PT GGP Helps Appreciate Plans to Create a Culinary Market in Terbanggi Besar

PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) gives support and appreciation to Kampung Terbanggi Besar which plans to establish a Culinary Market ‘Pak Minak’ located in Hamlet 1 of Kampung Terbanggi Besar, Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung Regency. PT GGP’s support is manifested in the form of heavy excavator assistance to carry out land clearing areas in the development plan. In addition, PT GGP also assisted in the form of bamboo and used tires to make the market.

The location of the culinary market is on the old road across Sumatra or rather in front of the Terbanggi Besar District Office. It is expected to be an alternative rest area that is comfortable and enjoyable for road users who want to rest for a while because it is not far from the Terbanggi Besar Toll Gate. The Head of Terbanggi Besar Sub-district, Fathol Arifin, said that the Terbanggi Besar Village itself had been declared by the Regional Government as a historical tourism village and cultural civilization in Central Lampung.

The development of this culinary market is equipped with children’s playgrounds and photo spots to lure visitors to come. It is also hoped that the mothers in Terbanggi Besar Village who have the expertise to make food can be directly involved in providing food or typical Lampung snacks.

“The problem is until now it has not been maximal in attracting visitors to enter Terbanggi Besar. For various reasons, such as the unavailability of an attractive location to visit, or nothing that can assure how comfortable and safe it is,” said Fathol.

The District Government is trying to facilitate several community leaders and youths to create a place for community empowerment in the form of a culinary market with the name Pak Minak or the abbreviation of the Innovative Community Culinary Market for Kampung Anak. It is hoped that in the future, the presence of the culinary market can attract visitors to enter Terbanggi Besar Village and be moved to see the tourist village, culture, and customs that are in it.

PGRI Semarang University food technology online visit

Great Giant Foods (GGF) received online visits from Food Technology students at PGRI Semarang University as well as holding field lectures. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, this online visit can be used as a forum for the exchange of information and a place for learning. This activity will take place on June 25, 2021.

The activity began with remarks from Indra Ardiyanto as Head of Corporate Communications GGF and Fafa Nurdyansyah, M.Sc as Head of the Food Technology Study Program, PGRI University Semarang. In her speech, Fafa expressed her gratitude to GGF for accepting students to learn about the company’s production process.

“Thanks to GGF for giving Food Technology students at PGRI Semarang University to learn more about production in big companies,” said Fafa. The activity, which was attended by more than 50 students, was filled by Ajie Pambudi who is a Quality Assurance of PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP). In his presentation of the material, Ajie explained the process of making canned pineapple products run by PT GGP. Several interesting questions emerged from the participants regarding the production process at PT.GGP.

The implementation of the activity went smoothly until the end. The activity closed with a group photo and impressions of messages from the participants. One of the participants named Ayuni Risma expressed her joy in participating in the online visit of PGRI Semarang University with GGF.

GGF and AGH IPB are performing field lectures for students

Great Giant Foods (GGF) in collaboration with the Dept. Agronomy and Horticulture (AGH) Faculty of Agriculture Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held an online field lecture through the Zoom Meeting application on May 29, 2021. This field lecture activity was opened with remarks from Indra Ardiyanto as Head of Corporate Communications GGF and Ketty Suketi as Representative of the Management AGH PB Field Lecture 2021.

Ketty Suketi expressed her gratitude for the openness of GGF to conduct field lectures. “Thank you to GGF for accepting us to carry out the AGH IPB 2021 field lecture. This event is expected to provide information to students about field activities at GGF,” said Ketty.
This activity was followed with great enthusiasm from the participants, totaling 160 fourth-semester students of AGH IPB. This activity is also expected to help students determine their final project research. The 2021 AGH IPB field lectures were held in various agricultural and plantation sectors ranging from vegetables, ornamental plants, to fruit. The management of the AGH IPB field study chose GGF because it has high quality in the production of fresh and processed fruit.

“We chose to cooperate with GGF because it has the best quality control in the field of fresh and processed fruit. The GGF factory is also directly integrated with plantations,” said Ketty.

Field lectures continued with a material presentation from Quality Assurance Fresh Fruit Sub Dept. Head of PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) Ikhsan Prasetia about plant cultivation at PT GGP. The presentation of the material went smoothly and was well received by the participants with many interesting questions to get more information about plant cultivation at PT GGP. The activity, which lasted for almost two hours, ended with a closing and a group photo session to capture the collaboration between GGF and AGH IPB.

This field lecture is expected to be a place for students to get information about the company even amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Implementation online is not an obstacle to gain knowledge. Indra Ardiyanto also stated that many visits from universities like this have been carried out by GGF. This openness is a form of GGF’s concern for the world of education and information exchange.

GGF participates in foodex Japan 2021

Great Giant Foods (GGF) participated in the Foodex Japan 2021 event held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture from March 9 to 12, 2021. Foodex Japan is Japan’s leading food and beverage exhibition with a history of more than 45 years, with exhibitors over from 90 countries. Although located in Japan, both participants and buyers have the opportunity to develop their business throughout the exhibition in person and online.

Foodex Japan organizers consider it important to network with potential buyers, first through online meetings and then move on to further business. By combining the two methods, both exhibitors and buyers have more business meeting opportunities regardless of time and place.

Agricultural Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo Sri Nuryanti said “Food Expo Japan (Foodex) 2021 is one of the largest international food and beverage exhibitions in the world, attended by participants from various continents. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing, Indonesia along with 32 countries from the European continent, 5 countries from the Middle East region, 15 countries from the African continent, 19 countries from the Asian continent and Australia, and 19 countries from the Americas participate in this hybrid Foodex 2021. .”

All participants were represented by importing companies in Japan. It is hoped that by including food and beverage products in Foodex 2021, the company will be more
known, wide market, and introduce new products by promoting product samples in the Indonesian Pavilion.

Indonesia’s participation in this exhibition is a collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo and the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, Bank Indonesia Tokyo, Indonesia Trade Promotion Center Osaka, and the ASEAN Japan Center in expanding the existence and increasing Indonesian exports.

Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Heri Akhmadi when opening the Indonesian Pavilion said that the 46th Foodex 2021 exhibition is expected to be an opportunity to introduce Indonesian products more broadly to Japanese and foreign consumers as an alternative source of new food and beverage supply.
