A banana mas GGP partnership was visited by two ministries of the Republic of Indonesia

Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki and Minister of Agrarian Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Sofyan A. Djalil accompanied by Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi reviewed the partnership pattern of PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung with the Banana Mas Farmer Group Tanggamus Regency on Sunday, February 28, 2021. The group saw firsthand the Pisang Mas cultivation garden in Sumber Rejo Village and Packing House 01 Arjuna Pekon Sailing Farmer Group managed by the Green Makmur Farmer Cooperative.

Head of Corporate Affairs GGP Welly Sugiono said that the company has partnered with banana farmers in Tanggamus Regency since 2017 with only 5 farmers but now it has reached 800 farmers with a partnership area of 400 hectares.

“GGP applies the Create Shared Value (CSV) concept, meaning that this collaboration is not profit sharing but value sharing. What is the value to the company and the value to the farmers,” said Welly.

Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi also appreciated the cooperation of farmers with GGP which already has a wide market share. The governor supports and hopes that Pisang Mas and other agricultural products can be spread throughout Lampung.

“GGP already has technology and market. Lampung has extraordinary agricultural potential, there is still a lot of land in Lampung, there are around 35 million ha. I think this banana can be developed evenly in all districts in Lampung in the future, “said Arinal.

“This partnership system is very good and this is one of our strategies in encouraging MSMEs to advance to class. We also have a social forestry program in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK) where each KK can manage 2 ha of land for 35 years and build corporate farming,” said the Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki.

“We came here to see firsthand the export quality of Banana Mas cultivation produced by farmers through a partnership with GGP. This is very good, the Ministry of ATR / BPN in this case supports agrarian reform so that this concept can be developed in other areas, “said Sofyan Djalil.

Suroto, “No Retirement For Farmers”

At a young age, Suroto (54) is getting more and more excited to be a farmer. Becoming one of the Pisang Mas partnership farmers in partnership with PT Great Giant Pineapple (GGP) further strengthens his determination to continue to grow and develop Pisang Mas cultivation.

“If I was working, I should have retired, but I am excited to join Pisang Mas’ partnership with GGP. The more you work, the more you will get results,” said Suroto while waiting for the arrival of the Ministers at Pekon Sumber Rejo on Sunday, February 28, 2021.

Suroto began partnering with GGP to plant Pisang Mas since 2017 and joined the Arjuna Farmer Group which manages Packing House (PH) 01 in Pekon Sumber Mulyo, Sumber Rejo District, Tanggamus Regency. Currently, on his private land, he is caring for 1,300 Mas Pisang stems. In addition, he also helped foster the care of 5,000 bananas belonging to the farmers who joined him.

As a farmer, this humorous man admits that he has carried out various farming activities, starting with coffee, cocoa, rice, and vegetable crops, but always loses when harvesting because the price is uncertain. He even admitted that he had destroyed his crops because the selling price was very low.

“Joining this partnership feels comfortable. Harvest is purchased according to the contract price, if you want to get a lot, you just need to increase the number of plants. That’s why I’m interested, how many tons of harvest will still be bought, so farmers can pursue as many targets as possible, “said Suroto.

Starting from seeds, work tools, and extension workers are facilitated by the company so that farmers can take care of their plants optimally. Seedlings are given from tissue culture so that they can be counted for target pursuit and good growth power. From the weeds, the growth is not uniform and the harvest cannot be done simultaneously. Suroto hopes to get the opportunity to have his own PH to develop this partnership. According to him, the presence of PH is very helpful in convincing farmers because the container already exists.

GGF “Great Value”, To be A Great Team to Achieve Great Target

The management of great giant foods (GGF) has defined a great value GGF with five important points: governance, excellence, excellence, agile, and teamwork. The five points are a basic attitude that should be applied to employees of the great giant foods at work. If the five points were well executed, it would be very easy for the company to reach targets in the future.

Head of processed pine plantation director imanudin on the general meeting plantation says “without value, one would be nothing. Therefore, I invite all employees to equate this perception of how the great value is the capital for achieving operational goals and goals.”

Great value GGF was a base in achieving the operational target plantation. The first value is governance. The value of governance is the earliest because it is the most fundamental value associated with integrity and ethics. GGF is great because it is built with mutual and trust, so all employees must also feel together and hold trust.

The second score is undeniable or reliable. Plantation needs to be reliable to produce the best quality products for consumers. Provide services to the factory as a follow-up process with the plant to cover the specification standard.

The next value is excellence, which is the plantation should have a process that is getting better from time to time. To achieve that value, there must be continuous improvement to work on the plantation. The focus on the plantation should be on the process first after it is focused on the results. In focus on the process, continuous improvement requires effort, and that results in a minimized failure during production.

The fourth value is agile, which means responsive and adaptive to every challenge or change. Plantation as part of a company that produces fruit, must be involved in company policy in response to changes or challenges that take place. Changes and challenges may come from changes in consumer behavior, competitors, government regulation, and technological development.

As a result, teamwork and teamwork work together as well as teamwork and teamwork. In the performance of each operation, the whole section must support each other to achieve a common goal. Teamwork will go a long way toward satisfying production.

GGF Holds Webinar “Millennial Eating Decisions”

Terbanggi Besar 12 November 2020, Great Giant Foods (GGF) in collaboration with SNV Netherlands Development Organization held a webinar with the theme Millennial Eating Decisions on Thursday, 12 November 2020 online. Health issues that occur in Indonesia are not only the problem of malnutrition (under) but also over-nutrition (over). This activity was filled by three speakers, namely Dr.dr. Lucy Widasari, M.Si as Management of PERGIZI PANGAN Indonesia and Board Member of Millennials Voice Indonesia, Stella Alinneshia S.Tp, M.Sc as Food Security Coordinator at Millennials Voice Indonesia, and Luthfiany Azwawie as Head of Group Product Management and Marketing Department PT Sewu Segar Nusantara. This activity was guided by moderator Indra Ardiyanto as Head of Integration and Communications of Great Giant Foods.

Over time, the community changes to adapt to environmental conditions. Like today, the COVID-19 pandemic is hitting and making people have to do activities indoors. That way, people’s lifestyles also change, and physical activity is reduced causing obesity problems. Uncertain working hours also make people consume more ready-to-eat food. Apart from obesity, malnutrition also occurs today because the majority of millennials marry and get pregnant at a young age. That way, being physically, mentally, and financially unprepared will result in the birth of children with minimal weight. The food consumed should be by the needs, and the needs of each individual are different.

Dr.dr. Lucy Widasari, M.Si said, “We cannot equalize each individual in consuming something. All the food that we should consume based on our own needs which are considered from the activities and diseases we have ”. “We may not have a bad diet when we are young, but we unconsciously accumulate disease in old age. Food that is beautiful in appearance is not necessarily good for the body, ”said Lucy.

Meanwhile, Stella Alinneshia S.Tp, M.Sc said, “In choosing the right food for the body, you should pay attention to food value and two factors in it, namely safety factor and quality factor. But the majority of millennials don’t pay attention to this. For most millennials, eating is an experience that must be immortalized, a place for social interaction, must be outside the home, and must be instagramable ”. “These perceptions shape the unhealthy lifestyle of millennials because this makes important factors in choosing food often overlooked. Eating is an activity that is needed by the body, maintaining health, and getting nutrients. In choosing the food we will consume, we must also pay attention to the balance of nutrients, diverse sources, eat according to the portions needed, and safety. “When eating, we need to pay attention to food sources, pay attention to quality, pay attention to safety, and pay attention to portions.” said Stella.

In choosing food, every individual knows what is needed for himself but sometimes forgets that eating is an activity that aims to continue life. Apart from paying attention to the source and nutrition of the food consumed, it is also necessary to pay attention to food safety. The process of food being made will affect the quality and nutritional content in it. Every individual needs to consume vegetables, fruit, protein, and carbohydrates by the portion, not excessive or deficient. It is necessary to instill in ourselves that the food we consume will have an impact on us in the future.

“Health is our main asset as the next generation, so we must be wise with what we consume. Not just for now, but for our future. Eating healthy and right is a cool thing, we can be agents of change. If reminding others is difficult, let’s start with yourself” concluded Luthfiany.

The efforts made by GGF in paying attention to public health are the existence of a community empowerment program called Great Indonesia (GI), the GI Program focuses on malnutrition issues that occur in Indonesia, including stunting, obesity, and malnutrition. Some of the activities that are the main focus are: Fulfilling children’s nutrition with healthy breakfast, educational platforms for mothers about nutrition, and planting in the yard as a fulfillment of foodstuffs. The event which lasted for almost 4 hours was attended by dozens of participants from all over Indonesia ranging from health practitioners, employees to students. With this activity, it is hoped that millennials in Indonesia can have a healthy lifestyle by choosing the right and healthy nutritional intake.
